Senior Symphony Orchestra
About the Senior High Symphony
The Senior High Symphony Orchestra is for high school strings in grades 9 through 12 and woodwind, brass and percussion players in grades 8 through 12 and they rehearse on Sundays from 3:30-5:45 PM at the North Dakota State University Challey School of Music.
Youth are selected for each orchestra through auditions and all youth must audition annually for placement in their respected orchestra. FMAYS’ members are chosen on the basis of musical skill and the needs of the orchestras. A strong commitment to attend all rehearsals is expected. The Senior High Symphony is directed by Jane Linde Capistran.
Members are expected to attend all rehearsals. Only absences for legitimate and important reasons will be accepted. Attendance at dress rehearsals is mandatory in order to be able to participate in the concert or scheduled performance.

Senior High men are required to wear a black tuxedo with black bow tie and white dress shirt. Tuxedos can be purchased at local stores or online @ etuxedo.com.
Women are required to wear all black dresses, long skirts or slacks with their blouse or dress having at least ¾ length sleeves and calf length skirts.
All students need black socks or hose with black shoes.
The tuition per semester is $150.
Billing statements are sent in August and January. If payments are late, as indicated by the billing statement, an additional $5 per week, up to $10 will be applied.
